TheCocoCard

The idea

Independent businesses run on regulars, but paper stamp cards get lost and loyalty apps are built for chains. TheCocoCard gives a small business a digital card its customers keep on their phone, and gives staff a scanner that works behind a busy counter.

My role

I designed and engineered TheCocoCard end to end for AadhiPixels Ltd: the product and brand, the member card, the staff scanner, the business dashboard and the platform underneath them.

How it is built

The member card is a progressive web app. Customers add it to their home screen from a link or a QR code, with no app store download in the way. The scanner runs in the browser on any phone, and owners manage visits, rewards and offers from a dashboard.

All three share one Firebase backend: authentication, a Firestore data model for businesses, cards, stamps and rewards, and Cloud Functions for the logic that belongs on the server.

Testing

Playwright end-to-end tests run the main journeys across the member card, the scanner and the dashboard, so a change in one app cannot quietly break another.
